If you’re anything like me, the idea of sneaking out of the office during lunch is both delightfully appealing and anxiety-inducing. Although there are few things sweeter than escaping for a few deep breaths in the middle of a stress-storm, sometimes the thought of leaving unfinished work seems more stressful than the respite is worth. Studies show, however, that taking a break can indeed increase efficiency and productivity, while simultaneously increasing happiness and peace of mind.
